The Rec2 $5K Buzz Challenge

Indie films wage an ongoing war with major releases for awareness and promotion in a cluttered market space. It’s a war independent films are losing. Some cool films deserve to be seen in cinemas with an audience of fans. Films like REC2, the terrifying sequel to the horror hit REC.

REC2 will be released in a few New Zealand theatres on Black Friday (13 Nov), and I’m helping the distributor – Vendetta Films – to get the word out. The catch? They only have a few thousand to market it.

So I pitched Vendetta to let me give away 75% (Five Thousand Dollars Cash) to any individual(s) who promote (Buzz) the movie REC2 in the boldest and most innovative fashion. They said yes.

Infected zombie

After our very successful (~1500 views) [REC]2 Promo, we have started an auction to win two tickets to the opening night of [REC]2 at SkyCity Queen Street on Friday the 13th of November.

The winner will be accompanied by an infected - James - who was last seen exiting a CBD apartment complex. He has since been tranquilized and is now in a docile state. We even got him to play some Dead Rising on Wii.

He makes the perfect movie companion to the [REC]2 screening. We have managed to convince him to donate any funds raised from this auction to the Leukemia & Blood Foundation.

DISCLAIMER: We cannot guarantee that scenes of violence and general zombieness will not incite our ‘undead’ specimen to react accordingly. Pity the poor sod sitting in front of him.

This is to inform you that I have undertaken measures against the release of this abhorrent film in Aotearoa/ Nz. I have emailed this and contacted directly the church leaders to Implore the banning of the film and the shutdown on this website. On Saturday Night 31st October from 8pm I shall be Telling people the truth of this film outside skycity cinemas Queen st Auckland.

Zombie Bear

We’re selling a Zombie Bear on trade me… he’ll have movie tickets/movie money to take his new owner to Rec 2 when it comes out…

We’re planning to post videos of him on you tube and wrangle him a mention on the radio programme ‘That’s the Story’.. it’s on Classic Hits and has an audience of around 75 thousand people.

The proceeds from the sale of Zombie Bear will be denoted to the SPCA to help living animals… as well as undead ones…
